Long Week

I don't know where the time goes. It has been a while since my last post. We are all doing good, but it has been a very long and stressful week. Brandon had to go to Dallas on a business trip and it just messed up our routine. My sister, Mist, came and spent the night with me which was great and it helped me a lot. She got sick on Tuesday and had to leave because we just don't want to risk anything. My other sister was at work, but came over when she got off to help me and I really appreciated that too. I take care of the babies everyday by myself when Brandon goes to work, but for some reason I am terrified of having to do it by myself at night. I know that I could and when I told Misti to go home I wasn't freaking out, but I am glad that Amber was able to come over.

So anyway we have some exciting news. Savannah is finally sitting unsupported and Cheyenne is finally rolling over. When we went to their developmental evaluation these were the only two milestones that were a concern. Savannah is actually sitting even better than Cheyenne and Brody because she is stronger in her upper body. She will fall and catch herself with her arm, whereas the other two just crash.

We have been doing o.k. with the solids, but we only feed them rice cereal and veggies once a day. They hate peas and green beans, but love squash and carrots. We have a lot of fun feeding them. I have tried to feed them by myself in the mornings, but they just scream. I don't really know what to do about that, but we will get it figured out. I decided that they are still getting the nutrition from the bottle so there is really no need to rush it.

The neatest thing they are doing is really interacting with each other. They love to sit in a circle and smile and touch each other. A couple of days ago I was making their bottle and I heard Brody cracking up so I had to see what was going on. Well Cheyenne was laughing too but you couldn't really hear her over Brody's laugh. Cheyenne was in a saucer and Brody was in his jumper and they were laughing at each other. It was priceless.

I have some great videos but I'm on the wrong computer to post them so check back and I will have them on soon.

But here are a couple of pictures until then....

Cheyenne's Smile

Teething isn't a whole lot of fun! Brody now has his top two teeth and Savannah has one cut and one pushing on the gum. Brody has been so difficult to put down for naps and bedtime. I think that's when he really notices his teeth hurt.

Cheyenne is doing this new smile these days and its so darn cute. It almost looks like its a fake smile because it is so big. She has the cutest dimple on the upper part of her chubby check. I got a picture of it, but the picture doesn't do it justice. She also shakes her head so it looks like a big cheesy smile saying no.

Thank You Brandon

I am so excited! Brandon bought me a new laptop for Valentines Day. I just got it today and it is great. I only have a desktop and he has a laptop and I am always trying to steal his at night so I can sit in my recliner and play on the internet. I guess he got tired of me hogging his so he just went and bought me one. He love me!!! He even got it in pink. He got me a pink dell computer with a matching wireless mouse and a matching carrying case. I think he spoils me a little :)

So this is the second best Valentines Day I have had. The first Valentines Day Brandon and I were together he made me fall in love with him. I was working at Dillards and had to work until 6pm. He told me to meet him at his apartment and then we would go to diner. So I had bought him a gift but I left it in the car and went up to his apartment. I went in and his bachelor pad was spotless and it smelled great. He had taken off work early came home and cleaned and cooked me diner. I was so suprised. We had only been dating for about 4 months on our first Valentines day, but I knew that we would be together forever. So we ate diner and exchanged gifts and he said, "I have one more suprise for you." It was so cute..... he baked a BIG chocalate chip cookie in the shape of a heart. He stole my heart that night!!!! :)

I Love You, Brandon!

Developmental Evaluation

Yesterday we had our developmental evaluation at the hospital. They checked they babies gross motor skills and fine motor skill. All three babies scored really well.

So the babies are 9 1/2 months actual age and 6 1/2 months corrected age. Savannah scored 5 months on her gross motor skills because she can't sit unsupported, but if she could have she would have scored at 8 months. She scored 7 months on her fine motor skills. Cheyenne scored 7 months on her gross motor skills until she wouldn't get on her tummy and that set her back to 3 months, but we were told not to worry because she is sitting so well. We just need to figure out a way to get her on her tummy. I know she can roll over because I put her to bed on her back and she will be on her tummy when I check on her. She is just uncomfortable on her tummy so she refuses to play that way. She scord 8 months on her fine motor skills. Brody did the best he past all the test with flying colors. He scored 7 months on gross and 7 1/2 months on fine motor skill.

I can't believe how fast they are growing up. You know there are times when I am ready for them to be a little older, but I'm not ready yet. I am ready for them to sleep through the night. They do sleep through the night every once in a while, but it sure isn't consistent. I think their teeth really hurt right now and that is keeping them from sleeping through the night.

Cabin Fever

I have such a hard time writing sometimes, because it never sounds the same as what is going on in my head.

It is so hard to be confined to the house for so long. I don't really even go to the grocery store because Brandon will do that on his way home from work. Not that I miss going to the grocery store. Anyway I feel like the walls are closing in on me. I usually get out of the house one night a week because I have the most awesome husband in the world. But this is a different world for us. Brandon and I use to be out doing things all the time. We love hanging out with friend, going out to dinner, going to movies, bowling, and we use to play a lot of golf. I know these things change even with one full term baby, but I feel like I am in prison at times. I love these babies and I really do love my life, but I can't wait for the cold/flu season to be over so we can get out a little bit.

So last night was the second night in a row that the babies sleep through the night. Its pretty exciting and it helps me out a lot. I sure have felt better the last couple of days. The difference between sleeping 7 hours interupted and sleeping 7 hours straight through is night and day. Hopefully they will keep this going. I started feeding them solids 1 week ago, and I know that has a lot to do with them sleeping better.

I love taking pictures of my babies!!! I have so many I'm going to run out of space on my computer. (i know i can save them on a usb, but you have to remember to buy one)

I Love Laughing Babies

It is so cool when the babies laugh. It is the highlight of my day! They all laugh a lot, but Brody will do it the best on camera.

Savannah is trying to crawl. It is so cool. She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks. I left the house for a couple of hours today and while I was gone Brandon called me to tell me that she is crawling. I missed it. :( There will be many many more times to see it, but its always cool to see the first time. KWIM

Happy 9 Month Birthday

The babies turned 9mo old yesterday, and had their well check up appointment today. They are all doing great, but Brody is in the 90th precentile for his actual age so they want him to go on a diet. No, not really. We use Enfamil Enfacare, which is a high calorie formula for preemies and low birth weight babies, but they want him to start using the regular formula. Its kinda going to be a pain because the girls have to stay on the high calorie formula.

Brody weighs 20lbs, Cheyenne weighs 15lbs 5oz, and little Savannah weighs 13lbs 15oz.

We are just now starting to feed the babies something other than formula. Our doctor wanted us to wait until they were 6mo adjusted. Here a video from their first feeding of rice cereal.
