Birthday Party

We had so much fun at the babies birthday party, and I think the babies had a lot of fun too. I was pretty stressed about overstimulating them, but I think they really enjoyed it. They have been pretty much confined to the house since they came home from the hospital and I think they have cabin fever almost as bad as mommy.

Which is getting better because we have been able to start taking the babies out and it has been great. We went to Wal-Mart yesterday and the babies had sooooo much fun. There was so much to see and it was all brand new to them. I HATE going to Wal-Mart, but it was actually really cool to watch the babies in a new environment. I think that is going to become a ritual around here, we are going to go somewhere after the 4pm feeding. It really helped with the fussiness too.

We had our 1 year check up and it went ok. They are growing, but Savannah still isn't even on the chart for her weight and Cheyenned just barely hit the 10th percentile so the pediatrician wants to keep the girls on formula until 15 months. Brody is in the 5oth percentile and he can start on cow's milk now. We have been feeding them a little bit of table foods, but just toast and avocado, but now they can have all kinds of table foods. Today was the first day I actually cooked for them and let me tell you that is not an easy task.

So I haven't shared their weights in a while and since its been a whole year.....

Savannah - Birth Weight: 2lbs 3oz 1 year: 16lbs 14oz

Cheyenne- Birth Weight: 1lb 15oz 1 year: 18lbs 2oz

Brody - Birth Weight: 2lbs 10oz 1 year: 22lbs 14oz

They are all doing amazing!!!! We have managed to get through this cold/flu/RSV season with 1 not so serious cold back in November. We are still going to have our guard up, but it is nice to be able to relax for a little while.

Here are a couple of pictures from the birthday part....

They are so very beautiful. I bet they thought Walmart was the most amazing thing ever with all the lights and sounds. They have such wonderful and loving people taking them on this journey. Every day will be an adventure.
That after 4PM time is always rough. I don't know why babies seem to get riled up and fussy during that time. Everyone I know says the same thing. If we could figure out that question and solve it, we would be rich! mw

I have been reading a little on your site the last few days. it is so nice to hear how well trips can do even if they came way early. I am currently in the hospital on bedrest with trip boys. I have been here for almost three weeks with preterm labor and I will be 27 weeks along on monday. There was a scare that they where going to deliver yesterday but thankfully they didn't. I would love to talk to someone like you- by that I mean someone that delivered early. Questions about irratable cervix and how bad ICU is and everything. I know time is probably really hard but if you get the chance and are interested email me at reciatreat@yahoo.com or I am trying to start a blog myself (little shakey) at www.triplets-smithtriplets.blogspot.com Thank you and happy belated birthday to your trips!
