Another day

I really wanted to do better at blogging, but I just can't seem to find the time. My mom has been here for two weeks and even with three of us it is so hard to find time for myself. We are all doing wonderful. Brody is feeling so much better. He hit 9lbs on Friday and just eats like a champ. Cheyenne and Savannah are eating great too. I can't believe how much I love these babies. Everyday when I am just feeling overwhelmed and exhausted I just pick one of my babies up and smile. I think they would all sleep 5 or 6 hours at night if we would let them. I have to wake them up to eat and then it takes everything to get them to eat an ounce. But during the day they stay awake for hours at a time and eat great. I don't really know when I will be able to let them sleep until they wake up to eat, but I am going to ask about that at their doctors appointment in the morning. I don't have a lot to report because they are just newborns. All they do is eat, sleep and poop.

Nana has been a great help. She is totally exhausted, but she still takes a shift at night. I don't know what I am going to do when she goes back to California. Brandon and I got to go out to dinner last night. David and Virgie came to see us from Artesia bought us dinner and helped Nana with the babies. Thank you so much "grandpa and grandma" Romine. We love you and can't wait to see you again.

OH WOW!!!

Well everyone is finally home. I haven't had much time to post because of the obvious, but I wanted everyone to see our beautiful babies. Brody had his surgery on Friday August 3rd, and it went great. He is like a brand new baby. He eats like a champ and sleeps good. He will also stay awake for hours just looking around. He hasn't even cried much since he's been back home. He weighed 8lbs 14oz before he got sick and went into the hospital at 8lbs 2oz and he has gotten back up to 8lbs 8oz. Savannah is doing ok. She really hasn't gotten this eating thing down. She sucks like crazy, but she has a hard time swallowing. We are working with her and hopefully she will get it soon. I took her to her first dr appointment yesterday and he told me, "now you really need to get her to eat 2 ounces every three to four hours. At least 7 bottles a day." Well its not like I'm not trying to. She will usually take about one and a half ounces and then she is done! What in the world am I suppose to do to get her to eat more!?! He didn't answer that question. She is finally sleeping. I think she is hungry all the time so she doesn't sleep well. She left the hospital weighing 8lbs 13.7 oz and she has lost 2 ounces since she has been home. Cheyenne is doing great. She is eating well and sleeping good. She weights 7lbs 2oz. We have to take her to the eye doctor on Thursday. She is the only one that still has ROP. She had stage 2 in her right eye and nothing in her left eye when we saw the dr 2 weeks ago. Oh and I held her last time while the dr did his exam. NEVER AGAIN. I think I have talked my mom into taking her to her next appointment. No... of course I will take her, but the nurse or tech whatever will be holding her. That was harder on me than on her, I think.

To sum things up. I don't get much sleep, but am loving it! I have my mom here for a couple of more weeks, and honestly I don't know how I am going to do this without her. The babies aren't on a strict schedule because they just won't eat that way. So I really have no time to sleep at night (or day). But there is nothing I would rather be doing.

Brody is doing Great

I am only home for a minute before going back to the hospital, but I wanted to give a quick update. Brody had something called Pyloric Sterosis and a hernia in is right and left testicles. The pyloric sterosis is what was making my baby throw up so bad. It is a muscle at the bottom of the stomach that allows your food to go into the intestines. So he had surgery this morning at 9:30. He is doing great now, they have him extabated and back on the nasal cannula. We are going to feed him this evening and hopefully it stays down. He is in the PICU now and his Nana is with him.

Savannah is eating much better. She took all of her feedings from a bottle yesterday, but we had to use the feeding tube last night. She is coming along and will probably be home soon.

Cheyenne is still doing great. Her poor little nose is very sore because of the sniffles and the nasal cannula. The medicine seems to be helping, but her nose could really use a break.

Thank you all for your comments and prayers. Brandon and I really appreciate it so much. We will update more soon.

BAD News

I am sitting here waiting for a phone call from the babies doctor to tell me they have a bed for Brody. We have to re admit Brody because he can't keep anything down. He weighed 8lbs 12oz at his check up on Monday and today he weighs 8lbs 2oz. He started throwing up on Sunday, but it wasn't that bad. I took him to the doctor and he gave us some medication for reflux. It didn't help at all. So for the past three days he has thrown up every time I feed him. I can't believe this. Hasn't this little boy been through enough? I just can't stop crying. I believe everything will be ok. I have to!

Savannah is still in the hospital and doing ok. Not much has changed with her. She still isn't eating very well. I will call the NICU and they will tell me that she has taken her last 2 bottles, but thats the best she has done. She will take two bottles in a row and then nothing. They did a neuro consult to see if she was having devolopmental problems, but thankful it came back normal. So they so we need to give her more time.

Cheyenne is doing well. She has been eating like a champ. The only problem with her is she is congested and her poor little nose is rubbed raw. She is on O2 so her nasal cannula is making it worse. I just called the dr to get her an appointment. The people at our pediatrian's office is going to know me well and fast.

So tonight I will have one baby in the NICU, one baby in Pedatrics, and one baby at home. Will life every be normal again? I am about to have a break down. BUT I will be strong and one day we will all be home and healthy.

Tomorrow is my due date and the babies will be three months old. I can't believe we had these babies exactly three months early. I will try and update more, but as you can see we haven't had much time.
