Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!

We had a wonderful Christmas with our now toddlers. They had so much fun unwrapping box after box after box. We unwrapped a couple of presents Christmas Eve and then the real fun began at 8 Christmas morning, by the time we finished unwrapping presents it was time for me to start cooking lunch. After our nap we headed over to Gammy and Grandpa's and contunied the fun. The babies got the hang of unwrapping presents but they all had to tag team the same present.

We got sick in November, but thankfully it didn't get too bad and it didn't stay around to long. It did make itself around the whole family even aunts, uncle, and grandparents. I think we have done pretty good so far though. We got sick in November of 07 and not again until a year later, hopefully we won't get sick again for a long time. It is so draining and hard to take care of a sick family and being sick on top of that is even worse. So between being sick and having the fussiest babies in the world this has been a very long month.

I have some pictures to share. I tried to download some videos but it is taking forever and I just don't have that kind of time so maybe next time.

GREAT NEWS!!!!

Brody no longer has hydrocephalus!!!!!

The doctor said that his brain looks great and he sees no damage from his hemorrhages. He believes that Brody will see no long term affects at all. We are going to leave in the reservoir because its safer than going in and having Brody put under to take it out. If Brody wants to have it taken out when he is older we can do that with just numbing it and it can be removed with Brody awake. We don't have to go back for any more scans or imaging unless we have problems in the future.

Brody is such a smart little guy and I am so happy today. He loves his sisters and he wants to hug and kiss them all the time. Here are a couple of pictures of Brody kissing Cheyenne and Savannah.

Brody

I was just looking at my little miracle this morning and thinking how lucky I am and how strong he is. This little man has had a very long journey to where we are today. He was born the baby of the family and he has had the hardest journey to heath. The picture above was right before we went to surgery for his hydrocephalus. We had his MRI done last week and tomorrow we are going in for the follow up appointment. I believe that we are going to get great news, but of course there is always worry. So please keep this little miracle in your prayers tonight and I will update tomorrow after the appointment.

Hi!

Has it really been a month. Ok well I am just not a great blogger, but I think I'll keep trying.

Nothing much new going on here. We have an MRI appointment Wednesday for Brody but we won't know anything until his follow up appointment next week.

We will just do some pictures today :)

Balloon Fiesta

My sister, Amber, dragged us to the balloon fiesta this year. At first I really didn't want to go, but we had a great time. I think this will be something we do every single year. I have lived in New Mexico my whole life and this is the first year I made it to the balloon fiesta. Last night was the special shape balloons and the babies thought it was amazing. They really had a great time.

Look at Brody looking at that cracker :) Brody is such a handful! He is so friendly and he loves everyone, especially grandpas. Every time I turned around he was making friends with an older man (like 70s and 80s), it was really cute but scary at the same time. I am going to have to get a leash because I couldn't ever relax in fear one of my precious angels would disappear.

Look at these balloons, aren't they awesome. They were a bit overwhelming at first, but it was so neat to see them all blown up and glowing. Cheyenne and Brody were completely in awe with it, but Savannah was ready to get the heck out of there. She didn't like the noise of it all.

Brody and Cheyenne just sat there and watched as they crews got their balloons spread out. I also just thought this was a great picture!

I will probably always refer to these 3 as my babies, but they really are growing up. They walked all over that field. Amber and I were so freakin tired when we got home. I think they talk to each other in their secret language and tell each other to go in separate directions. We got home last night and thought we were going to die, but of course we didn't and I even stayed up until midnight playing wii.

Guess who loved this balloon....... Savannah. Yeah, she didn't like being out there much after they balloons where up, but when she saw the monkey she started blowing it kisses.

How cute is this balloon?

Grass hasn't always been a good thing around here, actually its been a problem. But now that they wear shoes and they don't have to feel the grass they love it. Brandon got the backyard cleaned up and little play yard put up in the back, and it is such a life saver. I still don't know what we are going to do when it gets too cold to go outside.

This is what we looked like most of the day. All we did was run after the babies, pick them up, and bring them back to where we were sitting. It was a great day that I will always remember and I am so glad that Auntie Amber asked us to go.

Toys Toys Toys

Anther toy to join our cluster here in toddler land. There will be a day when I have a living room again I just know it. I think they get so tired of their toy s and I don't know what to do about it. I spend too much money on clothes to start buying a new toy every week. I think there should be a toy exchange program. You know where you take the toys and exchange them with a neighbor who's toddlers are tired of the toys they have. They love balls and what better way to keep them entertained than with 150 balls in a blow up toy. I have balls all over the house now and they try to stick them any where they might fit.

And then there is the trash that comes with the toys.... that keeps them entertained for a while. Actually Savannah wanted nothing to do with the balls, but she played with the trash for about an hour :) That's what I could do is just keep all the boxes and packaging materials from all the toys we buy to help keep them happy. We wouldn't look like a day care anymore, we would look like a garbage dump. I do keep some of the boxes around for a couple of days if they seem to be interested in them at the time. They usually end up in the garbage when we have WWIII over it.

Brody is a handful! He was such an easy baby, but that is not the story now. He has to have his way or its no way. He throws the biggest tantrums if one of the girls takes a toy or if I have to take something from him that he shouldn't be playing with. Just look at that little face..... he is gonna be trouble.

Cheyenne on the other hand was such a trying baby. She had to be held all the time and she screamed for what I felt was no reason at all. She is now the most calm and easy going little girl. She has almost a full mouth of teeth which I thinks helps her be calm. Brody and Savannah are still trying to break their molars, but Cheyenne has had them for a while now. The only time she is pretty needy is if there is someone around that she doesn't know.

Savannah is my Rock Star! I have said that since she was kickin me like crazy in my belly. She still is my little rock star. She loves her little sunglasses and she carries them with her all the time. She just figured out how to put them on herself and she loves it. She has a lot of skin problems right now and we can't figure out if its something she is allergic to or if it is eczema. I am taking her to the Dr in the morning to get them to take a look at it. It started as a little spot on her arm and then she started getting it on her checks. Well now it is all over her face, chin, checks, and eyelids. She even has a little bit on her back. I hope its not something that is going to be with her for life. My mom and grandma have really bad skin problems and it is just miserable for them.

Golf Tournament

I am going to go play golf today! I am pretty excited about getting out in the sun before it gets cold, but I am very nervous too. I haven't played golf in a year and I have never left the babies (awake) with a babysitter for this long. I'm sure everything will be ok, but my stomach is in knots right now.

Anyway, we are having a golf tournament for the babies again this year. Last year we had a fundraiser and it helped us out a lot, but this year we are putting all the money back into prizes. We are putting this tournament on to celebrate the life of the Triplets and to bring everyone together for a little fun. If you are interested in playing please email me at tripleblessed@gmail.com and I will send you all the info.

YUCK!!!

Ok, so I don't have that natural mother's way around the poopy diapers and the vomit and all the gross things that babies do. I clean it up trying not to gag the entire time. The first time I put my finger in Savannah's poop in the NICU Brandon had to take over the diaper change for me to go throw up. I'm getting better though, I haven't really gagged in a long time. UNTIL TODAY

Our morning naps have become more of a "quiet" time than nap time. It gives me a way to take a shower and have a minute to myself. Well this morning they didn't sleep at all and about 30 minutes after I put them in their cribs they all start really crying so I had to go check on them. OMG Savannah got her diaper off...... YUCK!!! Poop was everywhere. Now I don't know if that's why Cheyenne and Brody were crying but it smelled soooooo bad. She had it smeared all over her crib, in her blanket, and on herself from head to toe.

They really enjoyed their mid morning bath, but mommy's tummy is not feeling good :)

Along for the Ride

Load the truck, unload the truck, load the truck, unload the truck! That is what I think about every time we decide to go somewhere. It is a lot of work! The babies love riding in the truck, most of the time, but sometimes we have to play baby Einstein the entire time we are driving. Its enough to make someone go crazy. BUT we have been having so much fun getting out of the house and I am not ready for that to end. We took the babies out both days this weekend. Saturday we took them tailgating at the Lobo's football game and Sunday we went to a picnic. Last night I felt like I had ran a marathon and it was the first night I went to bed before ten and actually fell asleep fast. My point is that I LOVE getting out of the house with the babies and I am not ready for RSV season!

Lake Pictures

Here are the picture of the kiddos at the lake.... it was a lot of work but we had a great time!

Where were you??

I don't know when this day, if ever, will not bring tears to my eyes and pain in my heart. I didn't loose anyone I knew on this day seven years ago, but they thought of all the people who did is heart breaking. I was in the Army and stationed in Alaska on this day September 11, 2001. I was just waking up getting ready to go to PT when my phone rang, which was kinda normal because my mom was 2 hours ahead of me and would call to say good morning. Well this was not the same Happy mommy on the other end of the line. She was frantic and scared and asking me what was going to happen to me. I was so confused because I had no idea any of this was going on. She told me to turn on the TV and see what was going on. I actually turned on the tv about the time the second plane hit the towers. As I sat in shock and still not really grasping what was going on my mom was saying, "are you leaving, are they going to send you somewhere?" I told her not to worry, but I needed to go to get to work. I changed out of my pts and put on my uniform, got in my car, turned the radio on, and drove 3 hours (usually 5 minutes) to work.

All the families that lost someone and all the troops are especially in my heart and my prayers today!

Babies Walking to Daddy

This video was taken a few weeks ago, but it was when they were all starting to really get the hang of standin up.

The Lake

So Brandon had to go to Elephant Butte for work and we just decided about a week ago that we would go with him. I didn't plan very well and I packed the morning we left. It actually didn't turn into the disaster I feared it would. The babies did amazing the first day. It took us about three hours to get there and the babies pretty much played and laughed the whole time, I was hoping they would fall asleep, but no such luck. So we got there unloaded into our "suite" (just a little bigger than a normal room with an extra coach), and then we went to get a bite to eat. The hotel had a swimming pool and hot tub so we were planning on checking it out after we ate, but the babies had a different plan. We got back to the room and the melt downs begin. Cheyenne started it and she was not going to be out done by Savannah or Brody. Brandon had gone to the golf course to drop of the trailor so it was just me and Tiada (yah I wasn't trying that by myself and THANK YOU Auntie Tiada for going with us), we made them some bottles but that wasn't what they wanted. So I held Cheyenne and Tiada tried to juggle Savannah and Brody and I was just waiting for the someone to knock on the door and tell us we had to go, lol...

Well after they finally went to sleep and had some rest the next day was a little better. We went out to the golf course for about an hour and Brody would not let anyone hold him. He was gonna walk and that was that. The girls did pretty good too, but they didn't really have anywhere to just hang out so we didn't stay very long. We went back to the hotel to have a nap and get ready to go out to the lake. Again they didn't sleep because they are in pack n plays and in a weird place so I thought we were destine for fussy babies on the boat. They actually weren't too bad. We rented a boat and finally got on the lake at 2:30pm and we had 3 hours of fun ahead of us. Well that was true for Brody and Savannah, but Cheyenne DID NOT like the boat, the body glove she had to wear, or the sun in her face. We keep going on though hoping that she would finally calm down and realize that she loves water and this is just one big bath tub. Well that didn't work either. We finally stopped in a cove and let the babies get out and play in the sand and they seemed to like it after they figured out that it wasn't going to hurt them. Savannah ate lots of mud and Brody walked and swam and just had a good o' time. Cheyenne even started having fun a few minutes before we got back on the boat.

They were so tired when we got back to the truck. Savannah barely made it to her car seat before she passed out and Cheyenne and Brody weren't too far behind. So we had a pretty good day and they sleep great last night. We got up this morning loaded the truck back up, it took my suburban and Brandons long bed chevy, and headed back to Albuquerque. It was a lot of work, but we had a blast doing something different. I probably couldn't have done it without my wonderful sister in law Tiada, Love you!!!!

I am going to put a couple of pictures on here whenever I can get them downloaded so check back soon.

Walking

So during the time that I wasn't posting Brody, Savannah, and Cheyenne started standing up without any help and taking steps. The first time Brody walked I was shopping with my mom and sisters, but luckily my brother in law pulled the video camera out. Thanks Larry!!!

Here is a video of Brody pushing Savannah around on their bus. They love this bus and they fight over it all the time.... this is one time they actually played together :)

Here is Cheyenne standing up... a few videos of her.

My mom and my sister, Amber, bought the babies stuffed animals and they love them. One is a pig, one is a monkey, and one is a lion. Cheyenne kisses and kisses these animals. Brody is starting to following in her footsteps. Here is a video of them kissing these animals.

OK thats enough for now. I have some more of them walking and dancing and will post them in the next couple of days.

Happy Labor Day

Climbing....

We climb everywhere! My little monkeys are into everything. I can handle it, really I can. :0)

When they first started climbing on the couch I thought, 'OMG, I am going to have a heart attach' but that is nothing now. They climb on the kitchen chairs, on the coffee table, on the end tables, they even try to climb on my bed. I know this is what they do and its great that they are, but now Brody has climbed out of his crib! I don't know what to do now. I do not want to spend the money on a crib tent. I know that is what I need to do, but he will only use it for a couple of months, right? So what did my mom do before crib tents were invented? Did she just let me fall?

So during the day they are pretty much free to roam the house because I hate putting them in a "cage". I have pretty much given the house to the babies. I have childproofed the living room, dining room, and the extra bedroom. I just close the doors to the other rooms and let them go. I have forgotten to close the bathroom door once or twice and always find Brody in the toilet so I have gotten a lot better about closing doors behind me. I made the extra bedroom into a play room, but if I gate them in there then they hate it and all they do is scream so I don't use it like I intended on using it. I have a play yard, but its only been set up like its suppose to be used a couple of times. My point is that I am sucker..... these babies have me wrapped around their tiny little fingers. You will probably see me on super nanny in the future, lol :)

Its been a long time.

I have been having a heck of a time with my computer lately, and my motivation. Sorry it has been so long since an update.

Everyone is doing great. I found out that we aren't getting the RSV (synagis) shots this year. It is kinda scary, but its good that the trio is too healthy to qualify for the shots. I am not looking forward to being stuck in the house again, but that was going to happen with or without the shots. We have all stayed healthy and haven't had any major issues.

We took Brody to a follow up appointment with the neurosurgeon and the Dr said that he isn't concerned about having to place a shunt. We are going to do a MRI at 18 months old just to make sure. Then the only question will be is if we want to have the reservoir removed. Brody is just an amazing little man! When he was born and our "wimpy white boy" we had so many scares, and now look at him.... the FIRST one to walk. That's right our wimpy little white boy is walking all over the place. Savannah and Cheyenne are starting to walk now, but Brody was first. I don't think any of us would have put money on that.

It is so much fun watching them grow and learn. I never could have imagined how amazing it really is. They days seem to be much easier now than they have been. A lot of triplet moms would tell you that it doesn't get easier it just gets different, but in my opinion it is way easier. For me, I can deal with chasing them all over the place and redirecting them when they start fighting, but I had a really had time with all the crying and not knowing how to make them feel better. Don't get me wrong we still have a lot of crying, but it is way down from what it use to be. The hardest thing for me is not being able to cuddle with all three of them when they need me to. When they wake up from their nap they want mommy time so bad, all of them! I do the best I can, but there are days the only thing I can do is load them up in the car and let the drive sooth them. It breaks my heart :( Another thing that is really hard for me is the feeling that I am giving one more attention than the other two. I have really been feeling that way with Savannah. She has always been pretty content on her own and now I think she just expects it.

Most days are great, some are bad, and some days I want to run away, but I am having the time of my life.

Chuck E Cheese

We went on an adventure to Chucke Cheese last weekend and here are the pictures. It went really great, thanks to Misti going with us and giving us the 3rd pair of arms. We got some really cute pictures...

Savannah and Brody had an absolute BLAST at Chuck E Cheese, but Cheyenne was attached to my hip (like always). That is why Cheyenne isn't in many of these pictures. But the picture below is Cheyenne getting her first kiss, lol.. we went to a birthday party last weekend and this little boy really wanted to give Cheyenne a kiss.
